Reflecting on the past to prepare for the future

Last May I exhibited with Camp Collective at Surtex in NYC.  It was a truly amazing experience for me as a designer.  To be surrounded by so many creatives and see all the variety of work was incredibly inspiring and a bit overwhelming!

This year, I’ve decided to exhibit with Camp Collective at Blueprint show 2, which will also be held in NYC (at the same time as Surtex).  I’ll be exhibiting along with fellow artist and surface pattern designer, Joan Herlinger.  Blueprint is a significantly smaller (read “more intimate”) design tradeshow.  I feel it is a better fit for me and I’m very excited to be a part of it. I am very much looking forward to showcasing all the new illustrations, patterns and designs that I’ve been creating since last year.

Over the next weeks, I’ll be busy prepping for the show.  It’s got me thinking about what I want to do differently and where I want to focus my efforts.  There’s a lot of work that goes into preparing for a show such as this.  As I work through my preparations, I’ll be sharing some of my thoughts and considerations.  I hope you’ll follow along.
